James here with a quick update on the Boogatooth art 🐯

We just wrapped up an intense week-long grind curating the final traits for the collection.

The art has actually been done for a while, but we used a small window before the Tooth launch to level things up even further.

They say the final 1% of the art is where the magic happens, and that certainly holds true for Boogas.

You learn so much going through the creation process. You become locked in on what works best, and as the optimizations get narrower and narrower, it just becomes obvious what traits are going to look boogtastic and take the collection to a whole new level 🔥

For example, we naturally wanted the Tigers to show off more skin than the Cavemen (the Tooth will have over 20 skins, compared to the Cavemen’s 5!). Because of that, we initially steered clear of classic shirts and stuck to vests and accessories.

However, this week we managed to pull off some dope casual shirts too, like this:

It wasn’t easy! Working with an animated collection brings some unique challenges where even seemingly simple things get pretty complicated. Just adding those sleeves meant diving back into hours of rig work.

We also tweaked and animated a ton of mouths to better align with the Booga spirit. Things shifted towards a higher concentration of happier looks…faces that will make you smile and put a bounce in your step 😉

And of course, we developed some absolutely epic legendary traits, but leaks for those will have to wait!

Now we shift to the fun part: selecting the actual NFTs that will make it into the collection. More on that soon!

We’ve put a mammoth amount of time into discussing how best to expand the community.

The Mint: Free & For the Culture 🔥

As you probably know by now, it will be a free mint on ETH.

More precisely, we’re going with a “pay what you want” model. This incentivizes donations but absolutely doesn’t enforce them (more on that later). The key takeaway here is that nobody gets priced out. This approach also kicks the doors wide open for epic collabs, putting Boogas right on center stage in Web3 💪

Curation: Quality Meets Fun

With a free mint, the discussion quickly turns to curation. How do we attract the right quality of people to match our existing, boogtastic community? We’re looking for collectors who are here because they truly love the art, the IP, and want to be a part of this special movement.

Beyond that, how do we curate the WL in a way that stands out and is actually FUN?

If you minted a Booga in the early days, chances are you did the Booga Trials. That was a blast! We thought about running it back, but we decided to build something new... something bigger.

We landed on an idea that is truly EPIC. I can’t wait to share it with you soon, but I really think we SMASHED IT 🌋

How to Snag Your WL Spot

While the main public route for WL will be over-allocated and FCFS, we are hitting the grind to personally seek out and invite high-quality people in the space.

Here are the different ways you can lock down your Boogatooth WL spot:

• Hold a Booga: We couldn’t make this easier for our existing community to secure their spots. Simply join Booga Town and spin for it! As always, we just want to reward active participation... we aren’t trying to keep anyone out ❤️ If you’re not in there yet, make it happen!

• Team Invites: We’ll be on the grind handing out direct invites to active legends in the space.

Designing a Fresh Character 🐯

This was a really fun one to create, and it fits perfectly into the role of one of our PREHISTORIC Tigers.

We didn't want to just copy the Nomad, Hunter, Shaman, or Warrior characters from the Cavemen. Instead, we went outside the box to design equally cool tigers that fit the mold. We asked ourselves: *What’s the most obvious difference between the Cavemen and Tigers?*

The tiger has fur, and it crawls through the jungle, becoming tangled up in its surroundings… so we ran with that theme!

The BTS Refinement Process 🎨

Let’s start with the head. We really love original, creative trait ideas, and thought a bird's nest landing on the Tiger's head could be awesome!

Then came the hours and hours of drilling down the details 😂 Eggs? Birds? Both? How many? What does the nest look like? Does the tiger have hair? What color? Sticks in the hair?

As you saw from the reveal image, we ended up choosing a cleaner look without sticks, keeping the final versions to either:

• Version A: All birds, singing 🐤

• Version B: All eggs, with one cracking 🐣

Getting to this point took some trial and error:

• The "Overpowering" Idea: We tried having all the eggs hatching, but it became too distracting.

• The "Too Busy" Idea: We tried adding sticks, but it cluttered the design.

The final adjustment was simply to make the tiger happier, and that was a wrap on the head!

Clothing & The Tail 🍃

For the clothing, we tried weaving sticks and other natural materials into the fur, but they didn’t quite work and were tough to implement. We eventually landed on a leaf skirt (similar to the Shaman).

The tail was another fun one. Similar to the bird's nest, we thought: *What if the tail got stuck in a bee's nest?*

At first, we tried having the nest attached to the tail, as if the bees built their hive right on it. Ultimately, it worked far better to have it comically stuck right on the end 🐝

And that’s a wrap on the Nature Tiger.
